Spay and Neuter Awareness Month

Mount Tabor Animal Hospital

February is Spay and Neuter Awareness Month

Awareness Leads to Prevention

February is Spay and Neuter Awareness Month. And at Mount Tabor Animal Hospital, we want to draw attention to this important topic now because typically summer months are when we see lots of accidental overproduction of puppies and kittens, which can lead to an overwhelming influx of animal intakes at our local animal shelters. Spaying/neutering can actually help save animals by preventing euthanasia of unwanted pets!

Did You Know?

  • Cats can get pregnant by 4 months old
  • Dogs can get pregnant by 5 months old
  • The best time to fix your pet is by 4 months old
  • 50% of litters are not planned
  • 4-6 million pets are put to sleep every year
  • More Information

Don't Put it Off!

We are here to help! If you have questions about getting your dog or cat 'fixed', give us a call to schedule an appointment with a veterinarian at Mount Tabor Animal Hospital.
